In the context of this article, Guids are unique values used to identify COM classes and interfaces. These values are used by COM clients to locate the assembly that implements the COM class. The result is that when reflection is used to locate exported COM types, (for example with programs such as Regasm.exe and Tlbexp.exe) these two types will be found.Ī Guid value is defined on the interface and on the class. Note that the interface declaration also has this attribute. The ComVisible attribute indicates whether the class is visible to COM ( True meaning it is). Notice that there is also a collection of attributes on the class.
